Attack on Serhiivka
On July 21st 2022 two Russian missiles hit the village of Serhiivka in Southern Ukraine destroying an apartment building and a hotel killing twenty one people. In this gallery are images of the destruction, as well as images of survivors in a local hospital.

Ukrainian Refugees in Medyka, Poland 03-22
In March 2021, two weeks after the invasion, I travelled to Eastern Poland to document the massive exodus of refugees across the border. They came day and night with whatever they could carry, almost all women and children.

Night Buses from Medyka
Buses from the border crossing at Medyka ran 24 hours transporting refugees to shelters in Przemyśl, Krakow and Warsaw.

Refugees at Warsaw Railway Station 03-22
The main railway station in Warsaw became a de-facto refugee shelter with hundreds of displaced person camped out while volunteers tried to find sponsors willing to house them.

Przemyśl Railway Station
The Przemyśl station was flooded with refugees coming by train from all over Ukraine. People from the local community left car seats and baby strollers on the platform to help families arriving with nothing.

The Battle for Kiev
The first major battle (and Ukrainian victory) wes the battle for Kiev. The Russian army never made it into the city but were stopped in the suburbs. After withdrawing from the towns of Bucha and Irpen it became clear that war crimes and atrocities had been committed. These images document the massive destruction in these communities.
