Black Lives Matter.
The Black Lives Matter project is a documentary series of images of Black Lives Matter street activism since Charlottesville, and especially since the death of George Floyd on May 25 2020. These images are a collected from a number of different events in Tampa, Sarasota and Bradenton over the past years. They bear witness to the outrage, energy and commitment of the Black Lives Matter organizers, community and allies. I hope that the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rodney Mitchell and so many others will not be in vain and lead to a profound recognition that racism is a gangrene eating away at the body and soul of this country, and systemic change cannot happen until the rot is cut out no matter how painful that might be.
